2010 Yamaha Snowmobiles Revealed

After having an opportunity to digest the info on the new 2010 Yamaha's I'll have to admit being wrong on my prediction of the introduction o power assisted steering on a snowmobile.
Yes I am surprised there wasn't a new high performance model replacing the Apex, but given that Yamaha released their 2010 Nytro XTX a year ahead of schedule in 2009, Yamaha fans got their new model early so to speak.

Sled Invasion - 1 Week Countdown

One week from today, Alberta's Whitecourt Trailblazers will be kicking off their 30th Anniversary celebrations.

From February 13 to 15th in Whitecourt Alberta, a number of fun events have been planned for you, your friends and family.

The Club will be hosting Snowmobile Freestyle Events in conjunction with their annual Snowmobile Rally and the Provincial ASA Snowmobile Jamboree.
The Freestyle shows on February 13 and 15, will feature professional Winter X-Games riders showing off their Freestyle jumps

and tricks as seen at popular X Games events. There will also be a World Record jump attempt by 19yr old Sam Rogers that will be the highlight of the Freestyle show. [More]

Polaris has certainly created a rush of discussion with the introduction of it's new 600 based big bump sled.

One of the most interesting features of the new Rush is the "Rider-Active Control" which allows the rider to use weight to affect the sleds handling. Valcourt, January 29, 2009 – The drivers lining up on the oval or the snocross course starting lines at the upcoming Grand Prix Ski-Doo de Valcourt, February 20, 21 and 22, will probably encounter the very best conditions ever seen at Canada’s most popular motorsport winter event, if of course Mother Nature remains as co-operative has she’s been so far this year. In fact, as the organizers were explaining this week, the ice covering the oval at circuit Yvon Duhamel is already 31 centimeters thick (over a foot) and the snocross course is virtually ready, built with the equivalent of 1,200 truckloads of snow.
